Hallo and welcome to the first official issue of Idleized Heaven’s The Daily Dirty Fork. We will hopefully send out one issue once every two weeks- however, if this becomes too frequent or I don’t have time to do it that often, the DDF will become monthly.
Also, since this is the beginning of the DDF, I don’t know what the SPAM Club members expect to see or get out of this humble newspaper. So thus, if you have any ideas, comments on things you like, contributions, anything, PLEASE let me know!
For all questions, comments, etc., please e-mail me at Webmistress_Diane@eric-idle.com.

Disc 1

· Audio commentary track - features great commentary and banter from Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam
· "Soundtrack for the Lonely" - Michael Palin's hilarious soundtrack for people watching the DVD at home alone

· Selling the Meaning of Life - the original trailer, television and radio spots, including the first-ever and slightly-unsuccessful "advertisement by telepathy"
· Deleted Scenes - the scenes that didn't make it (some with commentaries)
· Virtual Reunion - how do you get all of the Pythons together for a reunion?
· What Fish Think - turn your television into a virtual fish tank, Python style
· DVD-ROM features - includes the whole screenplay, the script for several scenes that were never filmed, the sheet music to many of the film's songs, and Mr. Creosote's The Joy of Fat recipes

The DVD was released last Tuesday, September the 2nd, and should be out for buying in local stores now!

Here’s Cheri’s comments on the DVD (as seen in the forum):

Finally found it last night at Best Buy. No one else had it. The video stores didn't even have it out to rent yet. Love the movie in widescreen though, much better improvement. God, I love all the extras too, especially the virtual reunion (love Eric's outfit and I love the day after where Mike gets his finger stuck in his ear and nose lol!)
Haven't listened to the commentary yet. Too bad it's only the two Terrys and no Eric. I loved Eric's comments on the Holy Grail DVD.

Got any comments on the DVD as well? In the next issue, I’ll feature what people loved about this new DVD, so send some stuff in!

A Treat For All: The Greedy Bastard Tour
In 2000, Eric Idle treated his fans by touring North America with his Eric Idle Exploits Monty Python tour featuring songs and sketches from Python. He played to over 50,000 people in 31 gigs.
Now he’s treating us again.
From October 1st, starting in Montreal, and ending on December 20th in Los Angeles, Eric will tour America yet again with his new The Greedy Bastard Tour featuring some old and new stuff alike from Monty Python and his new comedy CD The Rutland Isles. People are encouraged to come dressed strangely and to sing at the top of their lungs to all of their favorite songs. It is said to be a night of skits, songs, sketches, and all-around silly fun.
Eric himself wrote about the tour:

"Hold the back page! Idle to tour again.

As Howard Rosenberg wrote to me recently "Eric puhleeese retire!"
But no, as long as there is an innocent nickel to be made from the gullible Python-starved public I shall be out there, dressed in silly frocks singing filthy lyrics.
Yes, as Fall weaves it's gay magic it's time for ancient comedians to hit the road again, so watch out Python fans, I'm coming your way once more in search of ancient dollars and buried Trevor [surely some mistake - Ed.] and don't think this time you can hide safely on your campuses because I shall track you down and force you to sing foul and downright nasty songs, as well as attempt to entertain you with comedy both new and old.
So beware, get out your old costumes and pop along to your local theater and see me on THE GREEDY BASTARD TOUR!"

Dates, times, and places of where the tour will be are not yet known, unfortunately. However, the minute I know them, I will let everyone know!

Doing The Impossible: Victoria's Story
Note: This Is A True Story Written By Victoria

I have done the impossible! I met Eric Idle last Saturday at the Arclight Cinemas on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood!!

Ok, I'll tell you the whole story...

I was browsing the internet for Monty Python related reading material, and I came across a link that was talking about the sequel to the Rutles. So of course I clicked it, and it said The Rutles 2: Can't Buy Me Lunch premieres at Arclight August 16th at 7:30 and 11:45. So I was so ecstatic because that's only like 45 minutes from my house!! So I called up my friend Erica, and we were off! We drove and drove and drove, listening to oldies the whole way! And finally we arrive! WOOHOO! So we have no idea where to park, but a nice security guard moves cones and stuff to let us turn around cause we were going the wrong way! So we park, and we bump into the same security guard (so weird!) at the front of the theatre, and we ask him where to go, and he takes us! I felt so special! But the first person I saw before I went into the theatre was none other than Kevin Nealon! If you don't know who he is, he used to be on Saturday Night Live, and I love him! I was too scared to ask for a pic with him though, so I told my friend Erica I'd ask later!

So we go in, and wait in line, and while we're waiting this kid came up, he was like 14 I think, and he asked us which movie in the film festival we were going to see. I said The Rutles 2, and he then told me it had been sold out for 3 weeks! I was crushed! I couldn't believe it. I was only on the website the other day and it said nothing about being sold out! So I mope around the theatre trying to conjure up a way to make us get in! I mean we were young, pretty girls--how hard could it be?? BUT! About ten minutes later the kid comes back and says he just ran into a guy who said he had two extra tickets, and that he'd sell them to us! WOW! I ALMOST DIED! So he takes us to where he was talking to the guy, and he was gone! So the kid said he'd go look for him, and low and behold he finds him! So he gives us the tickets for 2 dollars off! Only $20 bucks instead of $22, and we go to theatre 13 where it is! Just so you know, I have started running around this theatre jumping up and down like a crazed dog in heat because I'm so excited!!!

Anywho, we're sitting, and this man comes on a mic, and says, "Thanks for coming yadda yadda, and now the man you all came to see, Mr. Eric Idle!" And he walks in, and I immediately stand up clapping, and shouting, "I love you Eric!" When he saw me looking like an idiot he said, "At least one of you is glad to be here!" Ahhh! That was exciting! Then they played the movie, and after they had a little Q and A, and I really wanted to ask a question! So I pondered and came up with a really stupid one, but I thought it was quite amusing. I told my friend Erica if I should ask, "Now, in the movie how were you able to make the character of Dirk so darn adorable? I mean, was it makeup?" So I did! Everyone started laughing, and after it subsided Eric said, "I believe it was youth!" Then I was like, "Youth? Interesting." I dunno why I'm prone to acting like an idiot in public, but I'm so darn glad I asked that because I made him laugh!! So then after that was over he stayed behind and signed autographs, but before I went to get one I asked Kevin Nealon for a picture, and he said sure. I told him I was too scared to ask earlier, and he said why? I was like, "Because you're Kevin Nealon!!" Then he laughed! Next it was on to Eric!!!!!! So I wait, and I finally get up there, and I ask him to sign the back of my ticket stub, and then I asked for a picture. I told him he was my favorite, and he said I had to say that, but I said no really you are by far my favorite person in the entire world! Then he saw my purse which has the Union Jack on it, and he said he liked it. I told him I got in while I was in London, then I went on to say how much I love England, and how I wanna live there and find my husband there. So we finally take the picture, and right after I was about to walk away, I just say, "Oh my God!" Eric smiled and said that I must be his number one fan!! I said yeah, this encounter is even better than meeting Paul McCartney, which from me is saying a lot! Then he gave me a hug, and said I should be an actor because I definitely have the spunk! So I slowly, but surely walked away giggling like a little girl the whole way out! I still can't believe it happened! I really wanna post the picture of Eric and I, but I dunno how to do it!

Well, I just wrote a whole novel, but I just had to tell the whole thing! Man!!

The Rutles 2: Can We Save It?
On Saturday, August 16th, 2003, the long-anticipated Rutles 2 premiere was held. The Rutles 2: Can’t Buy Me Lunch has been locked up in one of Warner Brother’s vaults ever since 2001, it’s only previous viewer having been George Harrison shortly before he passed away. The premiere was held for Warner Brothers to get an idea of what kind of an audience the film might captivate if it was put out onto DVD. And although the premiere sounded like a success and not to mention, a lot of fun, The Rutles 2 has been shut back into that horrid vault.
It is now time for us to make a stand and have our voices be heard! If we don’t do something now, the Rutles 2 may be lost forever! Want to help? Here’s how!

You can write a letter to Warner Brothers! Here’s the address:

Eric Frankel
Warner Bros. Domestic Cable
4000 Warner Drive
Bldg. 160, Room 9014
Burbank, CA 91522

You can sign a petition!

So let them know we want our movie! Help release The Rutles 2!

Keep Your Eyes, Ears, And Nostrils Open:
Delgo And Ella Enchanted
Is Mr. Idle busy or WHAT? We have two, not one, but TWO more Eric Idle movies coming our way soon!

First is Ella Enchanted, based on the book by author Gail Carson Levine. The story is a spoof off of the original Cinderella story, but with a twist. Young "Ella" is cursed- she MUST do EVERYTHING ANYONE says. If someone told her to chop her head off, she’d have to do it. Like the original story, Ella falls in love with the handsome prince while having to work like a slave in her own home under "care" of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters.
I personally have read the book, and it is one of my favorites.
But here’s the even better part!
Eric himself will be the narrator! Now how about that?
Though the exact theatre release date is not yet known, it is set to come out sometime in April.

Second is Delgo, a new computer animated film by Fathom Studios. This story is purely fantasy and is about a reptilian-like boy who must save a fairy-like princess from her evil aunt while the two races begin a raging war that may end up destroying their world. Sounds really good, and the trailer is definitely something to see. Their official site is at delgo.com. Eric, lovely Eric, will be doing the voice for Spig, an imp who tries to sound intelligent but instead has numerous verbal blunders.
Fathom Studios is guessing that Delgo will be released into threatres by December of 2004.

I know that this really isn’t a whole lot of information on these films, but hey, if I put out everything at once, there wouldn’t be any news for upcoming issues! However, if you know of some information about the films that may be useful, tell me! Thanks!

The Remains Of The Piano Remains

On August 18th, 2003, The Remains of the Piano, a spoof from the Merchant Ivory film Remains of the Day, was set to start shooting in Canada.
However, it did not.
Why? we are all asking. The real truth is unknown, but we DO know that is has to do with that emerald green piece of paper we call money. For some mysterious reason, the movie company decide not to give Mr. Idle the money needed for the film only days before heading up to Canada. Fans everywhere are shocked, and one can only expect that Mr. Idle is highly disappointed. He was set not only to act in the film, but he wrote it and was going to direct it as well- the only movie that he’d be doing so since the two Rutles films.
So will TROTP ever be shot? Will it ever be released? No one knows for sure. "Maybe in a couple of years," Mr. Idle had sadly said at the Question And Answer for the Rutles 2 premiere on the 16th. This is indeed a great tragedy for all Eric Idle fans everywhere.
I will post more news on this topic if any more news arises.

Idleized Heaven:
The Official Site For Eric Idle?
As many fans know, the Greedy Bastard tour is inching closer to us every day, and I am definitely going. :) Now I have had a couple people say to me, "Diane, wouldn’t it be nice if this was Eric’s official site?" and I think back to myself, "Why, yes, that would be lovely indeed!" So the tour is my big chance to ask The Man if I could host as his official site!!! Now wouldn’t that be cool? However, I am a bit nervous and touchy on the subject. What if he said no? I’d be devastated. Why if he didn’t like it? I’d be devastated. What if he didn’t even look at it? I’d be devastated.
Do you get what I am saying here?
So I need some input on what I should do. Yes, of course it would be a dream come true to be his official site (*eyes glisten with excitement*), but what if it only brought failure and disappointment? Should I go ahead and try, or hold back? Please, answer this little poll!

What do you think about Eric-Idle.com being the official site for Eric?

A. Go for it! This is your big chance! If you don’t try, you know you’ll be sorry later because of it. Besides, it would be so cool if he said yes!

B. It’s alright to hold back. I can understand your shyness and being weary of being utterly disappointed. There’s no harm in not saying anything.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!

Idleized Heaven Site News

This is basically most of the same stuff that you can find on the Daily Dirty Fork page on the website, but it’s always good to keep viewers updated!

The Idle Wild pages have opened as of today. The Idle Wild section is a compilation of 12 different games/entertainment areas for viewers to play and read. Why not check them out now? You can Adopt Your Own Eric Idle Character, test your skills with Scrambler and Trivia, see if you have Idle Syndrome, and more!
Also, I am always looking for talented people who have written EI fanfiction or drawn fanart. My Bright Side page is looking pretty bare, *weep*, so I need some stuff on there! Come on, please help me out! Haha.
I have been working on the pages pretty hard though, and to my own surprise, I just have two sections out of the ten left to build. However, I have come to the conclusion that I’m not happy with my layout and how the pages work, so after everything is built for a bases, I will begin phase 2: redesign! If you have any inputs on how you think the pages should look, drop me a line, will ya?
If you haven’t already, please check out the Half-A-Bee Headquarters and the Message Forum! It’s always nice to be able to chat with new people; the more the merrier! The guestbook and guestmap are always nice to look at as well.
By the way, if anyone knows of any good sites to find Eric Idle pictures from his movies OTHER THAN PYTHON, send me a URL! I always like to extend my picture galleries, haha!

I hope that everyone has enjoyed Issue 1 of the DDF! Have a great day!
