Most know me as Diane, but some call me Di (pronounced Dee).  I currently reside in the nothing state of Utah, though I was born in southern California and lived there for the first six years of my life.  I now live out in the country (or what used to be the country, but is rapidly diminishing due to massive constructive) and enjoy sunny days with clear, blue skies with fields filled with birds and other assortments of animals.

As far as my personality goes, I've been described as intelligent, witty, sarcastic, original, creative, obsessive, and loyal.  I am a perfectionist by all means, so I can become obsessive-compulsive when it comes to getting something just right.  I'm also an anti-social butterfly, meaning that I'm a loner and like it.  I have a few good friends, and I enjoy spending time with them or talking to them, but I really enjoy just being able to sit by myself in my home and listen to music and do whatever.  I'm my own person and am not influenced by the media or 'what's hot'; many consider me a leader in this sense.

In my free time, I enjoy bowling, archery, sword-fighting, role-playing, writing, blogging, drawing, web designing, gaming, and, of course, doing anything that's related to Eric Idle in any sort of fashion.  I've done league bowling before and have taken first place, and am now set to be going onto a swimming team.  I sword-fight in armor with big heavy sticks as a member of the SCA (the Society of Creative Anachronism), and go to SCA events and run around in a tunic with my bow and arrows.  But mainly what I do is what you're looking at: web-building.  I'm a professional web designer and am experienced in a vast assortment of programs, and run numberous websites and online communities, including this one.  I probably spend more time on the computer than what is healthy for a person.

My other loves, aside from those stated above, include The Beatles, all things fantasy, The Lion King, The Sims 2, Harry Potter, the Arthurian legends, animals, and my pets.  I'm not an enormous Beatles know-it-all, but I have quite a few of the CDs and I highly enjoy the music.  You could, however, call me a fantasy nut- I always have been and always will be. At the moment I'm even in the middle of writing a fantasy novel called Kanasia, which I plan on getting published someday.  But I know what you're thinking- Lion King???.  I do admit to being in love with the first two movies, including both characters and music.  It's just something that has stuck with me all throughout my childhood.  And really- who doesn't play The Sims 2?  And who isn't a Harry Potter nerd?  As for animals, I just really have a tender spot for them, and if I didn't love meat so much, I'd be a whole-hearted vegetarian.  However, my own animals get all my love- including my three (soon to be four) cats, my two guinea pigs, my two goats, my horse, my four fish, and my little African frog.

If you'd like to know more about me and my weird self, you are welcome to visit my personal site, Too-Obsessed.Com.  Please do give it a glance!
It's true that I haven't been an Eric fan for too awful long- just since February of 2003.  It was actually from the Harry Potter movies that I discovered John Cleese and from him discovered Monty Python.  I rented Holy Grail from my local Blockbuster sometime in early December of 2002, watched it, and didn't think it was funny at all.  Rather disgusted, I returned it the next day.  However, February whipped around and there I was again at Blockbuster, yearning for something funny.  I don't know what made me do it, but I grabbed Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and And Now For Something Completely Different.  I loved them all.  I don't know what had changed in me, but for some reason they were now outstandingly hilarious!

But why Eric?  I suppose I have a "thing" about voices.  I'm crazy for accents, I love doing them myself, and Eric's voice is simply lovely.  But it was when he started singing on the cross "Always Look On The Bright Side" that I rolled off my bed with a THUD. Ever since then I've been hooked.  Whether it be acting, singing, or writing, his work is wonderful, entertaining, and guaranteed to give me a good laugh.  He can always bring a smile to my face, and sometimes that is something that one highly appreciates, especially on my darker days.

But it isn't just his humor that I love about him.  It's just him in general- the way he acts, the fact that he'd gone through a rather tough childhood and then came out so successfully, his view on life, and his intelligence.  There is *so* much more to him than Monty Python, people.  And if you really dwell deep, he's almost like a philosopher, except rather than bore you to death, what he says is interesting, and makes you really think.  Many of his views on life and how to deal with it have helped me to get through myself.

Over time, my fanism has continued to increase. One major contributing factor is that I've met him.  I must say, there is NOTHING better than being able to meet your 'idol.'  Ok, there is one thing... your idol hugging you.  Yeah.  :-D  I was fortunate enough to be able to see him in San Luis Obispo, California (yes, San Luis Obispo is a LONG ways from where I live, but I was determined!) and watch his show while dressed in a Sir Robin costume with Spam can earrings and a Spam bag slung over my shoulder.  If you'd like to read more about my lovely experience, and the happiest day of my life, go here.  I have also been very lucky to go and witness his superb musical of Spamalot twice, the first time being ten days after it officially opened on Broadway on March 27th, 2005 (Easter Day), and again for David Hyde Pierce's and Hank Azaria's final performance on April 2nd, 2006.

Eric never ceases to amaze me.  His talents and his endeavors continue to inspire.
Idleized Heaven, or IH, began on February 10th, 2003.  At that time, it was small, and rather pathetic, to say the least.  It was hosted on a small flimsy freebe server called Expage.  In August of 2003, I purchased Homestead along with my domain name, and moved the site over there.  That's where we really began, though I will admit that the site wasn't half as nice as it is today.  But over the months it grew and grew, and as my web-building skills improved, so did the site.  We now have had almost 80,000 hits since being with Homestead.  We receive about an average of 103 visitors a day, though often more.  We attract visitors from all over the globe as well, our current leading countries being The United States, England, Belgium, Japan, Canada, Australia, Germany, Singapore, Hungary, and Poland.   Heck, we've even had visitors from Estonia and Malaysia!

But why did I create IH?  It was because of numberous reasons, really, one of the main ones being that the few remaining Eric Idle sites on the web were skeletons, remains of what they once were, and no longer updated or running.  Another is because it was the beginning of my obsession with website building.  And yet another was because it was a great way to show my devotion and appreciation to Eric.  So thus, IH was born.  I'm still in love with it.  My website brings me a lot of happiness and satisfaction, not to mention, it's a great hobby.  A while ago it was also confirmed that Eric himself has been here, and he enjoyed it, too, making any and all my efforts in the past and present well worthwhile.
