Big Spamalot fan and looking for a great Christmas gift for someone you know (or yourself)? Eric has donated a huge group of Spamalot collectibles to be auctioned off on Ebay for charity. All funds collected from the auction will go to the Children's Hospice of Los Angeles. The items in Eric's box include the following:
• Stuffed animal killer rabbit
• Killer rabbit hand puppet
• Limited edition plush Knight of Ni
• Spamalot artificial coconuts
• Two different Spamalot baseball caps
• 3 Spamalot pins
• Four different black spamalot t-shirts
• Tim the enchanter’s plush hat
• Eric Idle autographed Monty Python's Spamalot souvenir brochure
• Eric Idle autographed Monty Python’s Spamalot original cast recording CD
The auction ends on December 14th! If you'd like to find out more information and details on the auction, or to go and bid, the auction is on this page.
Speaking of Spamalot, on Tuesday, December 12th, the BBC will broadcast a short performance by the London Spamalot cast for the Royal Variety Show. Also, many of you probably already know that back on Thanksgiving day, the Broadway cast performed "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" at the Macy's Day Parade. Lastly, the previews for the Grail Theatre have been pushed back to March and are likely to be held back further due to lack of updates and progress.
Six new Icons have been added to the site along with four new pieces of Fanart.
I have added ten new images to the Eric As Himself section, five of which are under Events > London Spamalot Premiere, 1 Publicity Still, 1 Eric With A Fan, and 3 from the subcategory Eric As Himself.
We have gained our next Starpages award. We are now officially a 'four star' site by their standards. Thanks so much to all those of you have been voting!
I have added two new affiliates. Please welcome Peter Sarsgaard Headquarters as our newest affiliate! The other site is none other than Ryan Stiles Net, IH's new sister site. Ryan Stiles Net, or RSN, is also run by me, and will be run and designed very similarily to IH. However, there's not much to it yet (virtually nothing), but you can join the fanlisting and look at the fanart and icons and wallpaper. If you are a fan of Ryan Stiles, please check out the site and be sure to visit back often, as I will be building onto it a lot over the next month or so!
I have added three new Spam Club members. Welcome, Kandace, Soren, and Lynda-Louise!

Added 4 new Icons & Avatars along with 4 new Fanart pictures.
Six New SPAM Club Members have joined our ranks. Welcome, Julia, Susanne, Anne, Kets, Sam, and Laura!
I have given the Official Idleized Heaven Fanlisting a sorely-needed update, meaning, a whole-new spiffy layout! If you're a fan of this site at all, you should join it! There's link to it on the left-hand side under 'our fanlistings' - please check it out!

One week ago from today, Spamalot officially opened in London, England. Eric, along with fellow Pythons Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin, all attended the grand event which was a night of silly fun, and anticipated emotions towards how the Brits would react to the show.
However, things seem to be going well. So well, in fact, that Eric has decided to attempt to take a stab at creating a silver screen picture of Spamalot. He has noted that it would take a lot of improvising and many drastic changes to make it completely different from the original Holy Grail film, and that he's going to begin at square one.
Also, a bit of info concerning Delgo has crept up. It seems that the studio is now trying to turn Delgo 3D to help make it a bigger attraction, and that many of the voice actors are being called back to redo some of their parts or to expand them. The film is still slated to be released sometime next year.
I'm sorry (again) for the lack of updates. I have been very busy, and then my server was down for a few days this last week, so I was unable to do anything. I have also gone on two (very short) trips this month as well (one for educational purposes, and one to see Colin Mochrie), so that has also inhibited my updating.
You might have noticed that the forum has been down most of the day today. I believe I have it fixed now, though. Apparently part of it had crashed - but it seems OK now. Please let me know if you encounter any more problems with it!
I have created a new gallery under Eric As Himself - Events titled the London Spamalot Premiere Gallery, and it now hosts 26 snaps taken one week ago! I have also added an additional 23 photos to the Concert For Bangladesh Revisited Gallery. Enjoy!
Two new Wallpapers along with 12 new Icons have been added to the site for your personal use!
The SPAM Club has gained three more members! Welcome, Herschal, Dave, and Neil!

Yes, Monty Python And The Holy Grail has been re-released yet again. This new two-disc 'extraordinary deluxe' DVD box set is supposed to be the nicest version of the film yet. The viewing ratio has been changed, the quality has been improved, and new features include "A Taste Of Spamalot", a "Holy Grail Challenge", and "Secrets Of The Holy Grail". An extra goodie thrown in is a CD of the soundtrack from the film.
Back on the 30th of September Spamalot opened in London for its previews (also known as a 'gypsy run'). The official opening night / premiere will be held on October 17th. If you have gone and have pictures (or are planning on going), please, send pictures my way, especially any of you who are going opening night (and might be able to snag a snap of Eric)!
If you're in the Missouri area, or are near St. Louis, then the radio station 103.3 KLOU is sponsering a Spamalot ticket sweepstakes. The contest runs through the 13th of October, and four winners will receive tickets to the opening night of Spamalot (the tour) at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. For more details and how to enter, check out this site.
Back in July, IH was entered into the Cinnamon Gum Awards, and a few days ago I finally received the results! IH has claimed awards in four of the five categories it was entered into, including Best Fan Site, Best Old Site, Most Organized Site, and a participation award. Thanks so much to all of you who voted for us!
We also have one new affilate member- Fallonized.org, an extensive site for actor Jimmy Fallon. ((Some of you might know him as 'Melvin's Son' from The Rutles 2.))
We have two new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Alex and Morticia!
I have added 5 new Icons as well as 5 new pieces of Fanart. Enjoy!

Back on August 29th, a six-disk box set was released of each of the different 'Monty Python's Personal Best' episodes, each disk specializing in one of the six Pythons. Also, two days ago, Disney's The Wild was released onto DVD. The Wild primely features a solo song done by Eric and John Du Prez called 'Really Nice Day'.
Well, I have a bit of bad news, and I have some good news. The bad news is that Delgo has been pushed back again, now being slated for a theatrical release in 2007. Whether or not we'll finally get it next year remains a mystery. Though, we can be sure that the project hasn't been dumped, as many of the voice actors (possibly Eric) have been going to the studio and re-recording their parts as well as new lines.
However, all of our Aussie visitors will be extremely pleased to hear that Spamalot is coming to Australia in fall of 2007! Sadly, that's all of the info I have on that right now. I don't know any information about cast, dates, or even where yet. I shall post it as it comes in, though, to be sure!
Lastly, British fans will be happy to know that Spamalot opens for previews on September 30th at the West Palace Theatre in London. If you haven't purchased tickets yet, you should do so soon, as tickets are selling out extremely quickly over there right now!
Gradually, a lot of new photos shall be added to existing galleries. As of late, I have added six new pics to the Eric As Himself - Miscellaneous gallery, 1 new pic to the Toronto Spamalot Premiere gallery, 4 new pics to the London Spamalot Ticket Sales gallery, 2 new pics to the Love Gala Premiere gallery, 19 new pics in an all-new Earth To America! gallery, and 3 pics in the Mark Twain Awards gallery. Enjoy! I shall force myself to cap a new movie one of these days, too...
I have added 3 new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Alicia, Bree, and Dominique! I have also added Nora's profile.
I have added 2 new Interviews and Articles, and have updated the 101 Reasons Why We Love Eric Idle page.

There is yet even more news along the lines of Python reunions! Some time ago, I had announced the rumor of the possibility of a new Monty Python comedy album - and it seems that what has been a rumor for some time might actually become a reality. Michael Palin and the two Terrys have agreed to work on a new Python CD - however, John Cleese and Eric have yet to agree to the project, though it could be promising, and I'm sure Eric, the musically inclined one of the bunch, is considering it. More information concerning this will be winging your way as soon as there is more to tell!
I have added eight new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Jordan, Tab, Cassandra, Nora, Sophie, Joao, John, and Amy!
I have updated 101 Reasons Why We Love Eric Idle, the Suggestion Box page, and have added a new rating on the Fanfiction page. The site has also been updated to a three star site from Starpages!

This upcoming Autumn, to promote the coming of Spamalot to London, England, England's South Bank Show will be presenting a special featuring all of the Pythons, primarily Eric. All five living Pythons are scheduled to be there - Eric, John, the Terrys, and Michael. It will be the first time that they have all gathered together for a television broadcast since appearing in Aspen back in '98. I'll have airing and/or filming dates hopefully soon!

Though it was hard work and quite literally a total pain, I have completely re-written Eric's biography, and the new bio is now finally up for reading and viewing! Please do take a look at it. It contains a ton more information, facts, and insight into Eric's history than the old one, and is a much better read as well. However, consequently, I decided to get rid of the upcoming Ericyclopedia page, because I felt it was unnecessary and unneeded.
I have added five new Icons And Avatars, three new Wallpapers, and one new piece of Fanart.
|
|
Gallery lovers will be pleased with my progress as of late! I have added 1 behind-the-scenes picture to the Life Of Brian galllery as well as 2 new miscellaneous Eric As Himself pics. However, the even better news is that I have finally finished the Splitting Heirs gallery, 351 pics in all! An additional 12 pictures (also from Splitting Heirs) has been entered into the Naughty Gallery, too. The Meaning Of Life gallery will probably be next, and I plan on having it up sometime within the next two weeks.
In a burst of creativity, 6 new pieces have been added to the Fanart section.
Four new members have flocked to our banner! Please welcome Lindsey, Sarah, Erla, and Emma! Lindsey has also added her Spam Club profile.

Eric Idle has done it again. WE HAVE A NEW MUSICAL IN STORE!
Yes, you heard me right - Eric has finally let loose a few secrets to his next big project, confirming some rumors. Again with his musical partner John Du Prez, Eric is now bringing us Not The Messiah, a new musical based off of The Life Of Brian, despite having said some time ago that the musical work was not related to Life of Brian!
There is little to be known about this new musical, other than Eric being quoted as saying that the new work is "funnier than Handel, though not as good". Unlike Spamalot, at least as of right now, this musical will be less like a play and more of an oratorio. Its world premiere will be featured in the Toronto Festival Of Arts (being titled as Luminato) in June of 2007, and will be performed by a main narrator, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, soloists, and a choir. As of right now, the festival itself is being slated for June 1st - June 10th, though that is subject to change.
Thanks to kindly voters, we have now been able to get the next upgrade on our Starpages award!
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Marjan!
I have added one new photo from the Toronto premiere of Spamalot.

Help to get Nearly Departed, Suddenly Susan, and Rutland Weekend Television released onto DVD! For years now we've waited for the release of these Eric-related shows, especially Nearly Departed and Rutland Weekend Television, both of which prominently feature Eric. Now it's time we make ourselves heard in the same mannerism that we did to help get Rutles 2 to be released from Warner Bros.!
The process is simple. Simply click one of the links below, and if you haven't already registered for an account, first quickly create a (free) account. Then, once you have done that, login with the new password that will be emailed to you, and go to the three different pages featured below and vote for these shows to be released onto DVD! Once you have voted, you can then add comments as well. Let's try and show how eager we are for some of these prominent Eric works!
After a long period of virtually no one using them, and them being rather ugly anyway, I have deleted the E-Cards section from the Entertainment area. I have also made some major changes concerning the Adopt An Eric Page. It is no longer a personal, one-person-one-character adoption system. That was just unfair to too many people that they couldn't 'claim' a certain character they loved, so now it's basically a free-for-all. I have posted all of the buttons of all of the adoptees (plus six new characters), and so now, you can just take and use as many buttons as you please, so long as you save them to your own server and link back to IH! This makes things a lot easier on me, and it's much more quick and accessible for you as well.
I have added three new pictures to the galleries - one to Honey I Shrunk The Audience, one to Eric With Fans, and one to The Beatles Love Gala Premiere. Hopefully I'll be working up the energy to put up a couple more galleries before summer ends, too. Let me know which galleries you'd like to see made!
I have added three new pieces of Fanart.
Three new SPAM Club members have joined our ranks. Welcome. Chatel, Kreg, and R. D. Olivaw! Likewise, I have added Chelsey's and Kristin's club profiles.

A week ago from yesterday, Eric attended the opening night of the Spamalot tour in Toronto. One of our forum members, Nicole, was able to go, and took a couple of shots of Eric on the stage, so thanks for the pics!
I also received word from another forum member that Eric was in Cedar City, Utah last month on June 12th for the annual Shakespearean Festival along with Tania and Lily. It is also probably likely that they visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary again while down there.
Hormel has announced the makings of a whole-new SPAM brand, specially made for the U.K. to celebrate the coming of Spamalot to London. Stinky French Garlic SPAM, with packaging design overseen by Eric, will hit British shelves early September in supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda.
And speaking of the English production of Spamalot, Eric has made mention that he is considering taking on the role of King Arthur for a few weeks in London once it begins playing at the Palace Theatre. Nothing is definite, but he is kicking around the idea. I'll post more news on this if he actually decides to do it!
Lastly, Eric has signed on to return to the Simpsons for their upcoming eighteenth season. We can only assume that he'll be returning in his role as Declan Desmond.
I have added two pictures from the Toronto opening of Spamalot, and one new publicity still to the Eric As Himself gallery.
Five new MP3's have been added to the Music page.
I have updated the Idleography, Other, and Books pages. Four new Reviews have been added to the Idleography page, seven new Articles have been added to the Interviews And Articles page, and I have finally added another Everything Eric article in the Entertainment section.

At last, another Eric movie is in store for us! It was just announced that Eric will be featured in the third Shrek installment that is being titled as Shrek The Third. Eric will be doing the voicework of the character Merlin, the famous wizard that is Arthur's mentor. The film is set to be released in the USA on May 18th of next year, and on June 29th 2007 for the UK. Go here for more release dates for other countries.
Also, if you're in Toronto, Canada, Eric will be attending the premiere opening of Spamalot that begins playing at the Canon Theatre this Sunday. While tickets for this show are most likely already sold-out, you might be able to go just to see him if you're local!
And speaking of Spamalot, it's success is far from dying. The Spamalot tour, which recently played in Washington D.C., broke all of their National Theatre's records, beating out previous record holder Les Miserables by having every single show sold out for five weeks straight (and consequently, bringing in the most cash).
Lastly, there has been an update concerning Delgo. It seems that Fox has picked up the film and will be the movie's distributor, which is another step forward into seeing it movie towards theatres, a step which we've been waiting for for years. The movie is still set to be released this year, but an actual release date is yet to be announced. I'm keeping my tabs on it!
Though I am posting this a little late, Idleized Heaven is currently running in a website contest, and we'd very much like to win! However, we can only win with your help! Simply click this link and vote for us in each of the five categories we're nominated under! Your votes are highly appreciated, so thank you very much! ((Note: No voting more than once!!))
I have added three new SPAM Club members! Welcome, Chris, Margaret, and Anna! I have also added the SPAM Fact for the month of July. Margaret's profile for the club has been added as well.
Two new icons have been added to the Icons And Avatars page, and two new pieces of Fanart are now being featured.
I have updated The Suggestion Box and have edited some of my replies to being up-to-date, I have thanked Jaimi, Kristin, and Chelsey in the Thank Yous, I've added Version 9.0 to the Erichive, and I've re-done most of my Autobiography and have even added some spiffy new (corny) photos.

I just found out that back on the 10th of June, Eric was the presenter of the Del Close Award, the main feature and award of the Improv Comedy Festival that is held yearly in Los Angeles. He presented the award to comedian Harry Shearer after a short, yet hilarious speech.
New layout! Yes, we've already switched yet again. The gold just wasn't doing it for me, and so I hope everyone will fall in love with this new placid blue Nuns On The Run theme. The site hasn't changed drastically, though you should notice some main page touch-ups and changes. On the right, we have a new section called Site Features, which includes quick links to the Galleries, the Forum, and the SPAM Club.
I've also gotten rid of the web poll as to reduce those pesky, annoying ads. I pay way too much money for this site to still have ads! So I'm working on getting that solved completely. I'm going to upgrade my tagboard as soon as I have some money, and I've changed counter systems once again (the other one liked to play hide and seek), and hopefully, then, all of our ads dilemas will be solved.
I've also changed the buttons and have generally cleaned things up. You might notice that in the Support Us section on the left-hand side, we have won our first Starpages award! Thanks to all those who have voted! If we get to one hundred, we get another award, however, I am grateful to those who have helped us out so far.
And speaking of awards, tomorrow voting begins for a website contest I entered. I will post more information about it tomorrow, but I'll need everyone's help to carry us to victory!
More updates coming soon. Enjoy the layout!
If you head on over to the Galleries, you will discover that I have added the Rutles 2 gallery (170 pictures), as well as the Nuns On The Run gallery (410 pictures). I have also uploaded 7 photos from the Improv Comedy Festival in the Eric As Himself - Events section.

Back on Friday, Eric, along with Tania and Lily, attended The Mirage's opening gala premiere of their new Beatles-based Cirque du Soleil show called Love in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show celebrates the Beatles and their vivid, colorful music in a whole new expression, and now features as The Mirage's main attraction. Other attendees included Beatles Ringo and Paul, as well as many other Beatles-loving celebrities.
I have been working very hard on the galleries lately. I have now finished re-uploading all of our original photos, save for the Miscellaneous gallery, which might be put onto hold for a little bit as I'm not quite sure how I want to organize it just yet. However, the Eric As Himself gallery has been given a total makeover. Besides adding about 30 new pictures to it, I have utterly re-organized it into seperate albums and folders, making it easier to navigate. One of those folders is called Events, which holds the bulk of all the photos in the Eric As Himself gallery, and it, too, has been cleaned out and sorted into Eric's seperate appearances, and is listed in chronological order from most recent to oldest. But wait, there's more! I have also added two (yes, two!) *new* galleries! The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen holds 158 new pictures, and The Rutles is home to an additional 246 pics. I am currently working on The Rutles 2 gallery, and so that should be up within a day or two. Enjoy!
For all you icon-lovers and collecters out there, there are now 52 new Eric Idle icons and avatars for you to use as you please!
I know we haven't had this layout for very long, but I am quickly growing tired of all the yellow and gold. It's also too plain-looking. So, in a while, I don't know when, I'm going to be creating another layout, which I'm guessing will probably be light-blue themed. If you have any suggestions or ideas for the new layout, you can either comment to this post, or there's a thread in the forum where you may dicuss it.
Also, we only need 12 more votes on Starpages and we will receive an award and will be given an advertising space on the site, which would be really helpful to IH. So please, if you haven't voted for us yet, please do, we appreciate every vote! Just click the golden star on the left and click where it says Vote For This Site next to Idleized Heaven! Thanks!
I have added one new affiliate.

Yesterday, Celebrity Site Of The Day featured Idleized Heaven as their picked site of the day! This is an honor that only goes to exceptional celebrity-based websites. We have also received a spiffy 'trophy' due to this, now featured on the Awards page. We have also won the Golden Award from another awards-giving site.
If you've ever been interested to know more about the building blocks of IH and how we got started, the all-new Idleized Heaven History page is now up and running, ready for viewing (located within the Site section). It gives a detailed description of Idleized Heaven through the years, including its struggles and its accomplishments.
To help promote the USA / Canada Spamalot tour, an all-new online game has been released in which you catapult cows onto knights and killer rabbits while seeing how many points you can score within 60 seconds. If you're interested in trying the new game, it can befound here.
So, recently I've been listening to some of my visitors talk about the pros and cons of our new gallery system. I, myself, was slightly unhappy with it, so I went to work to try and make some changes. I have now made the thumbnails twice as big so that you can actually see what the picture is of. I have also made it so that once you click a thumbnail, you automatically get the full-size image, rather than having to keep clicking to have it get bigger. These two changes are perhaps the biggest new differences within the Galleries.
The Galleries are completely revamped now except for the Miscellaneous Eric section and the Eric As Himself gallery. The Eric As Himself gallery already features a lot of photos, but not everything that we have for that category is back up yet, as I am sorting through every photo I have and have been trying to order and organize them better. You might have noticed in the Galleries how I have been re-constructing the albums, making it more accessible and all-around organized.
Finally, I have added the all-new Life Of Brian gallery, yay! It consists of 221 new photos, including caps from the movie itself, behind the scenes, and deleted scenes.
The Shopping Spree page has been slightly re-vamped. I deleted some no-longer existing sites, fixed a few broken links, and added a couple of new sites to the list.
I have added 19 new Icons/Avatars and 2 new Fanart pieces.
Catherine's profile has been added to the SPAM Club page.

Congratulations! Eric has been chosen by Forbes as the 98th most powerful celebrity of 2006! This is mainly due to his overwhelming success from Spamalot, which continues to reap in the dough in millions.
And speaking of Spamalot, I have an update on the Grail Theatre! The vague 'will open sometime in 2007' has now been confirmed to be opening sometime in February (however, an exact date is still unkown). That's only eight months away, folks! So if any of you are planning to take a trip down to Vegas to see the show there, start saving your pennies now!

Yes, we did it! We have unleashed Version 9.0! It suits the coming of summer quite nicely, no? It was time for a fairly drastic change, something completely different rather than slight modifications and improvements, which is really what the last few layouts were. I only hope that everyone else is as happy as I am with our new 'look'. It is styled to be more professional, and to be more precise and cleaned-up, and less cluttered and messy. Good ole spring cleaning.
Also, to celebrate summer in general, it is time for a new contest! The new contest is The 500 Post Mania! Basically, whoever first reaches 500 posts on our forum will receive a prize, that prize being a brand-new, fully-sealed special edition Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life DVD! (Note: I should probably mention that the DVD is Region 1, which is US and Canada only, unless you have a region-free DVD player. Most computers that play DVDs are region-free as well.)
The rules are simple. Join the forum (if you haven't already) and have fun posting away! Once you reach 500 posts, PM me through the forum, and the first person to PM me is the winner! Naturally, those who've been at the forum for a while will have an advantage, but it's only fair because they have been supporting it and helping it to grow and expand all this time. Don't worry- there's no one with more than 150 posts (other than myself)! So go on and get posting, and have fun with it! (In other words, please make posts that actually have some meaning- don't just spam the board.)
Also, I have been submitting the site to a bunch of awards sites as of late to try and help to pull in some new visitors (and to get some new virtual shiny trophies). You might notice on the left-hand side that there is a new cream/tan-colored button under the starpages button that says Vote For Me. Please click it! You don't have to do anything else- just click it- and that's it. Thanks so much!
In anticipation of the July 2007 live-action film of The Transformers, a new special-edition DVD of Transformers: The Movie is slated to be released sometime in December of this year. The new DVD is supposed to include many new enticing 'extras' and 'special features', though we've no idea what they are yet. Eric is featured in this animation as a junkyard-owning robot who talks much like an auctioneer and crazy television show host.
Ok, I've done a lot of uploading lately, so here's what's been added recently: 3 new Fanart pieces, 6 new Icons/Avatars, 3 new Wallpapers, 1 new Eric Button, and 3 new Idleized Heaven buttons.
Also, if you're been itching for something new to read, there are now two new fanfiction stories up! One is a Splitting Heirs fanfic called A Perfect Lie by yours truly (and it's quite good, if you ask me ;)), and the other is called Best Friends Forever by Chezzles, a fiction story about Eric in his Flying Circus days. Please, give them a read! And when you're done with them, head on over to the Comics page and check out two new comics by Ellen!
Yes, we have added FOURTEEN new members! Please give a warm welcome to Amy, Alex, Dave, Anna, Christina, Amanda, Culumacilinte, Adrianne, Valmai, Katie, Mary Ellen, Catherine, Mareesa, and Kristin! I have also added two new SPAM Facts as well as a new SPAM Club Profile of Blaine!
Eight new affiliates have been added to our Links & Affiliates page! They will help us by supporting this site while we support them. I have also opened the Fanlistings page and have added 2 new Fanlisting affiliates as well.
I have updated the Suggestion Box, Why We Love Eric, The Six Degrees Of Eric Idle, and You Know You're Obsessed With Eric Idle When as well as adding Version 8.0 to the Erichive. I've also added a whole new section called Everything Eric, a small, humorous-yet-informative Eric-based column that I will write and update every couple of weeks or so. So far two articles have been added, one called Spamalot: The Making And Background Of The Best Musical Of 2005, the other being The Secret Water Bottle Obsession.

After many weeks of consideration and comtemplation, I have decided that we're in need of a new layout change (yes, again). I have already begun work on the new layout, which I believe everyone will like qiute a lot. Many things will be changing, as whenever I do a new layout, I try to give the entire site an upgrade. The new links system will probably be the biggest change, but don't worry- we're still going to be the good ole Eric site you know and love! We're just trying to improve ourselves a bit, and brighten our layout and such, as all this dreary blue does not fit in much with my spring fever.
So you might be seeing some changes around in the normal site. Things should still be able to function OK, but you might notice the colors or pages of certain items changing. For example, the tagboard and webpoll will soon be going to our new coloring system and will thus look odd on here. Please bear with me, folks! :) I'm going to try and throw this new layout together as fast as I can. However, there will be a halt of work as of next week. I am leaving on Sunday for California on a short pleasure trip for my birthday. I will be flying home late Thursday night, so I can commence building and construction again in a week's time from today. And that's it for right now folks! Please continue to enjoy your stay at IH!
OHHH WAIT! One more important thing! I've noticed that the ads are being malicious again, and they are really starting to get on my nerves. These ads are caused by three features: the tagboard, the poll, and the counter. I'm considering getting rid of the web poll, or maybe even the tagboard, or perhaps all three in order to stop the ads. Most of the ads are coming from the poll. I have another trick up my sleeve I'm going to try to stop the ads, but if it doesn't work, then I don't know what to do. Your opinions and voices on this issue would be highly appreciated. Thanks all. :)

As I mentioned in our last update, Eric was at Borders in Chicago, Illinois just this last Friday. He, along with John Du Prez, were kind enough to autograph copies of the Spamalot soundtrack and the Greedy Bastard Tour Diary. He also made an appearance at that night's performance of Spamalot at the Cadillac Theatre.
Continuing the promotion of Spamalot back in Chicago, Eric was on the local Chicago ABC channel (ABC7) last Thursday. Though the interview was short, he mentioned a few small things he hasn't before concerning the show and also clarifies that he will not be doing a Life Of Brian musical (or at least, not anytime soon). Click here to read the article.
For movie-watching fans, the fairly rare and hard to find Yellowbeard will soon be rare and in hiding no more! It is being released onto DVD on June 27th of this year on Region 1 DVD (Canada and U.S. players only unless your DVD player is region-free). So far there are no special extras on the DVD that I know of. Running time is 96 minutes and can be pre-ordered on Amazon for only $11.19.
I have added 17 new Eric As Himself photos and 4 new Miscellaneous Eric pics. Enjoy!
I have added 7 new SPAM Club members, now putting us at 202 members featured worldwide. Congrats everyone! Be on the lookout for some new SPAM Club goodies and events flying your way soon (probably around mid-June if not sooner)! Our newest members are Blaine, Susanna, Cha, Roman, Eugenia, Fran, and Stephanie- welcome! I have also added SPAM member Amanda's profile, as well as the SPAM Fact for the month of April.
Lastly, I have updated the Suggestion Box and have added two new Interviews And Articles for your reading pleasure.

If you've been craving for some new tunes to listen to, you just might want to pick up the soundtrack to Disney's new CGI film The Wild which includes two songs performed and written by Eric Idle and long-time partner John Du Prez. The songs are called "Really Nice Day" and "Really Nice Day: Finale" and are probably featured in the film itself (which came out in theatres on Friday if you're interested in seeing it).
Or, if you're a fan of singing your own songs, a karaoke version of Spamalot has been recently released for your parting enjoyment!
Head's up all Chicago-based Eric fans! Eric will be at the Borders bookstore on State St. on April 21st for a meet-and-greet to help promote the coming of Spamalot back to Chicago at the Cadillac Theatre. He will be accompanied by John Du Prez and will be signing autographs beginning at 12:30 PM sharp within the store. If you're unfamiliar with the store or its location, here is an address for you:
Chicago - State St.
150 North State St.
Chicago, IL
Phone: 312-606-0750
(If anyone is planning on going to the event, it'd be much appreciated if someone could get me a few photos and write up a summary! Thanks muchly!)
I have added 5 new Eric As Himself photos as well as two new Miscellaneous Eric pics.
To make up for her recent abscence, Claire has created an absolutely hilarious FOUR PART comic for Easter, so be sure to check it out!! I have also added 2 new Fanart pieces and 3 new Wallpapers.
I have added eight new SPAM club members. (We've almost reached 200!!) Welcome, Fonzie, Alysia, Barbora, Jaimi, Gabe, Joan, Laura, and Amanda!
For your music delights, I have added 1 new MP3, 1 new WAV file, and yet another set of lyrics!
Due to lack of time, laziness, and the fact that it wasn't very efficient, I have taken down the Calendar feature. It was difficult to keep up to date and I wasn't very good at keeping on top of things when it came to the calendar, and the only things I posted were for EST time for Americans- too narrow of an audience. So, I've taken it off, and have instead posted a large variety of links to many sources for countries around the globe to be able to look up Eric movies and shows and such that will be playing on their local stations, cable or non-cable. All regular Eric events will be posted and kept on this main page. I hope this new change is more satisfactory!
We've been honored to receive two more Awards! I have also added three new Interviews And Articles for you to read away, and have furtherly updated the Idleography page.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!!!!!!
Today was Eric's 63rd birthday! May we hope that there are many, many more yet to come, and that he had a great day today filled with fun, relaxation, and maybe a few thoughtful gifts!
In other news, last Saturday Eric was host/emcee for a special event at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, California. (Sorry, I don't have any photos from the event as of yet!) It was a charity-type of event, and raised over $550,000 that will be used to bring arts education to about 20,000 'valley' children and included a night of many celebrities, laughter, and having an all-around good time.
Lastly, if you've been searching high and low in vain for the new Vermonty Python ice cream, you might want to try Ben and Jerry's Flavor Locater which can pin-point stores were the ice cream is currently being sold. If you cannot find a store near you, you can either order it online (and pray it doesn't melt), or you can ask for them to distribute it in your local grocery shopping center.
If you hadn't already noticed, a few days ago IH surpassed 60,000 hits!!! Perhaps we shall do something *really* spectacular when we reach 75,000, or 100,000. Thanks again to all of you who visit and to help keep this place alive!
As I mentioned last time, I'll be gone this weekend and will most likely be seeing Eric. I decided, though on short notice, to do something quick and special for Eric from us. A while back I sent out an email to SPAM Club members through the mailing list (if you're not a member of the mailing list, you should join!) explaining about gathering some quick shout-outs to print out to Eric to present to him. Here's a copy of the email (slightly altered):
It is too short of notice to ask for letters if you'd like me to deliver them to him, so I have come up with another idea: shout-outs. If you would just like to write a few sentences to a couple of paragraphs for Eric and send them to be via email, I will put them all on as many pages as called for and print them out. This is basically a very simple, quick way for you to say hello (and you might want to wish him a happy belated birthday, too, as it will be four days after he turns sixty-three).
If you're confused as to what I'm talking about, here's a generic example:
Hi Eric!
I just wanted to say hello and hope that you had a really happy birthday! Thanks for everything you've done! You've always been an inspiration to me, and I love your work, and how you make me laugh. Keep up the good work, as always!
Sincerely,
Amelia of South Carolina
Again, that was just an example. That is about as short as they should be, though you can go a little longer. Try to be creative in your shout-outs, and please don't ask him any questions, as you won't be getting any replies back. Just remember to include your name and where you're from. ;)
So, if you'd like me to add your shout-out, please email me back through my Idleized Heaven email (webmistress_diane@eric-idle.com). However, I need ALL shout-outs no later than Friday afternoon!! The sooner you send them to me, the better!
I have added one new comic of Ellen's!
As the 'gift' from IH to you for Eric's b-day, I shall happily announce that the Suddenly Susan gallery is up, including 239 lovely pictures for you to gaze at and adore! (I apologize for the poor quality on some of the caps. That's what you get when you cap from a VHS tape converted into a DVD... Nevertheless, many of the caps are quite nice!).
The Haggler has been adopted by Ellen! (PS- I know that many of you have been requesting Eric's lately and yet haven't 'received' your character. I'm not ignoring you, I just haven't capped your particular request yet, so please be patient with me and know that you indeed have that character claimed, I just don't have the pics for him yet to do your button and such!)
I have added three new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Aaron, David, and Chelsey! I have also added one new SPAM fact for the month of March (a little late, oops), and added Carolyn's SPAM Club profile.

Ok, about the forum: the forum has been fixed! The error codes I mentioned in my last update are now gone, as well as the constant logging out. Please, please join the forum if you haven't already! We need new members to add to the fun!
I would also like to extend my warmest welcome to Ellen, one of our new comic cartoonists, so there should be a new comic about every week again. I still am looking for one more cartoonist, so if you'd like the job, give me a shout!
Next, I have some rather exciting news: I will be seeing Eric two weeks from today, so I'll be gone for a short trip during the first week of April. I might try and conduct a small interview with him, but no guarantees. I will probably also be giving him a little something from the SPAM Club.
I have updated the FAQ, put in a Thank-You to Andrea, added 2 new Interviews And Articles, have added the lovely University of Eric Idle Award to the Awards page (courtesy of Andrea), gave the second Golden SPAM Can Award to Monty Python's Orbit, and Boxer Eric has been adopted by Breanne and The Naughty Storyteller has been adopted by Kirsta!
Added four new members to the SPAM Club. Welcome, Ash, Carolyn, Sabrina, and Anna!
I have added a link to our newest affiliate, Monty Python's Orbit!
There are now 5 new lovely pieces of Fanart to admire, as well as a new Eric Idle Comic by Ellen to giggle over.
Fourteen amusing Video Clips have been added.

Sorry for the last of updates! My health hasn't been fairing too well as of late, and even today, when I thought I was feeling better, am sick once again. Nevertheless, here is a lovely big post of updates that I have actually been doing throughout the week, but have been too tired or lazy (or didn't have the time) to write about...
First off, after three years of having it, I have ditched my old forum. I was tired of its plain and unsophisticated look, and its ads annoyed me as well. Our new forum is now a PhpBB forum, and looks quite nice and is completely ad-free. However, there are two prominent glitches (that I have been fighting with for days and hours on end): The first is that, when a new person registers, and sometimes when you make a post, you will receive some sort of error code. Please ignore it, it means nothing. Well, it does mean something, but it's not going to interfere with your enjoyment of the forum. It's more annoying than anything. So please don't think that the forum has died, or that you can't register, etc., because it's just, as I said, a meaningless glitch. The other problem is that sometimes the forum likes to kick people off for no reason. Simply log back in and you'll be OK. Other than those two slight technical difficulties, the new forum is a wonderful place. Please go and give it a look and sign up! I don't want it to die out like my old one, so it needs fresh people, ideas, posts, etc. in order for it to survive. (PS- I apologize to all those of you who will have to re-register, as I naturally could not transfer your names over from the old forum. It's OK- registering takes about one whole minute.) So yes, go on over and check it out!
I have also given up on my old comic people, so I'm now seeking at least two new comic artists. Here are a few basic requirements or qualities I am looking for:
- I'd like one new comic every week. If once a week is too much, then biweekly, but I really prefer weekly.
- I want all comics in color.
- The comic must include either Eric Idle themes or Idleized Heaven.
- I do not really judge on your artistic skills. I don't want something that is just plain stupid (IE stick figures) or ugly, but I'm not going to sit back and say 'No his nose is too big' etc. Just try and make it look like Eric. I prefer present-day Eric.
- Comics must be fairly humorous. It is, after all, a comic.
If you're interested, please email me at webmistress_diane@eric-idle.com and explain why you'd be good. If you're seriously interested, please include a conceptual drawing of Eric (as how he'd be featured in your comic).
I have added 2 new pieces of Fanart and 15 new Icons.
I have added the website Pythonland as our newest affiliate. I have also re-added Eric's Rutland Isles website, as apparently he has decided to upload it once more onto the web (with a slightly different URL). However, the site itself remains unchanged, sadly.
I have added a Windows Media Player version of the song 'Captain Fantastic' which originated from Do Not Adjust Your Set.
I have added 9 new Eric As Himself pictures, and 1 new Miscellaneous Eric pic.
I have added 12 (yes, twelve!) new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Jason, Andrea, Leslie, Kat, David, Craig, Andrew, Martina, Breanne, Gabrielle, Andrew, and Martina!
I have updated the main page a tad, including the Upcoming Events section, and added a new web poll. (By the way- I have decided not to do a new layout. Not yet, anyway.) I also added 4 new Interviews And Articles that include some interesting stuff, and I created an eric-idle.net email for Jason. I still have plenty of emails to go around, so if you're interested in having one, let me know!
According to an interview last week in TV Guide, Eric and John Du Prez are collaborating again for a new musical. Because hardly anything was said about it, we can only guess as to what the new musical might be. Is it going to be another Python-based musical, or something new and clever? I'll be keeping tabs on this the best I can.

Though this isn't your typical idea of a release, Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream has released a new flavour entitled 'Vermonty Python' which is described as 'coffee liqueur ice cream with a chocolate cookie crumb swirl and fudge cows'. Ben And Jerry's writes:
We interrupt ourselves with much hooting through tin horns to bring you this brilliant new ice cream, made from dried shrubbery and old cereal packets. This is a ripping good flavor, really, so buy it quickly and run away, silly person, or we shall taunt you a second time.
I have added 11 new lovely pictures to the Idle's Python Years gallery (part of the Flying Circus Gallery). I have also added 9 new Eric As Himself pictures, some courtesy of Jan who took some fantastic shots when Eric was at the Palace Theatre last Tuesday.
There are now two new Fanart pictures for you to look at, as well as 10 new Icons for you to use and have fun with.
I have added two new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Krista and Ellen! I have also updated the profiles as Ellen has added her own to our ever-growing list.
Pythonland and Jan have been Thanked.
I have noticed, most unfortunately, that the ads have returned. So, apparently my plan didn't work. If anyone knows of any good sites with free tagboards, counters, and/or webpolls that does NOT include ads, please let me know ASAP. If I can't find any substitutes, I'm going to have to either take them off, or find even more funds to upgrade to ad-free services. So any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Tickets for the London showings of Spamalot went on sale today. Eric was there for some photocalls and to launch the event, and even cut a ribbon in front of the theatre doors. Doubtless, tickets will sell fast, so if you'd like to see a London showing at the Palace Theatre, starting October 2nd, then hurry up and get your tickets now!
On that same track, a few cast members have been announced for the London shows. Tim Curry will reprise his role as King Arthur until January, and the Lady of the Lake will be played by Hannah Waddingham, Sir Robin by Robert Hands, Patsy by David Birrell, and Sir Lancelot by Tom Goodman-Hill.
Tomorrow, Monty Python's Personal Best kicks off with Eric's episode on PBS in America, so tune in and watch!
It is that time of the year when I'm itching to do something new, AKA, make a new layout. Though I love this one, and the prospect of changing the whole site again truly frightens me because of its sheer size, a part of me is really up for a change. I'm thinking about doing something I've never done before, and adding a more 'professional' touch to the site. It's hard to explain what I mean... You've seen those sites that are "official" websites- they have a different look and feel. Often they use flash, which I sort of despise and have little knowledge in, but am now thinking I'm willing to try out. Who knows? I'm more of musing to myself here to see what reactions you all have to such an idea. Is there any sort of style or design you all would like to see? Is there anything that tickles your fancy, or that you think would be stunning? Please keep in mind that I never backtrack, I always try to move ahead somehow in someway whenever I do a layout change, so fresh ideas sometimes can not soley come from myself. So I'm open to suggestions as of right now.
On a small note, I have added the Livejournal Mood Theme page to the Entertainment area. So if you have a paid account LJ, you're welcome to use my mood theme (which I use on my own LJ).
Oh, one more thing. Due to the enormous amount of webspace this site eats, I was down to less than 90 MB left on my server, so I have purchased an additional 100 MBs of space so that I may continue to expand the site and make those pesky galleries!
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Sam!
|
|
Added two new Fanart pieces.
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Chris!
I have updated the main page, including adding five new items to the 'Did You Know?" scroll, and moved the old five to the Eric's Favorites And Facts page. A new web poll is also now in circulation with the infamous question of, "Do you think it's time for a new layout?".
Added two new downloadable MP3 clips of If I Didn't Have You and Come With Me.
I have officially completed the Season 1 section of the Flying Circus galleries by adding episodes 10, 11, 12, and 13, totalling an additional 70 new pictures!

So, I said a little while back that I was going to try and do something about the sudden emergence of all these pop-ups and advertisements that have been spamming the site. I spent a few hours this morning fiddling with things, and I got myself a new counter (and yes, the number was reset and is higher- that's the correct number of visitors) and edited a couple of things. So, hopefully, the pop-ups will either dwindle now, or will be completely gone. (I am hoping for the latter.) Because my computer blocks most of the advertisements automatically, I cannot see how many (if any, now) are still showing up. So, if you could be so kind, if you're still getting pop-up spammed, leave a comment to this post and tell me how many you received when you opened the main page. It'd help a lot so I can know if my work this morning has helped, or even completely solved the problem. Thanks muchly.
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Deb! I have also added Kat profile to the page as well.
School Boy Eric has been adopted by Victoria, and Sandy Camp has been adopted by Dana. Congrats! I have also added two new Articles and one new Interview.
I have added the two German Flying Circus episodes (totalling 31 pictures between the two of them) to the Flying Circus Galleries pages. Perhaps tomorrow I shall try and get up another gallery of sorts as well.
|
|
Apparently, on Sunday Eric attended the opening of "The Cherry Orchard" at the Mark Tapor Forum in LA. There are two pictures of Eric from the event, and both can be found in the Eric As Himself gallery.
You might have noticed that the tagboard has been done for a few hours. Appearently my tagboard provider had a database break down temporarily, but they seem to be up and running now. Let us keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again!
After a good deal of research, I have put together a small list of some of the nominations and awards that Eric has received over the years. I'm guessing I have about twenty or so listed. You can find the new link, titled Awards, listed on the Idleography page.
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Victoria!

Today marks the third anniversary of Idleized Heaven! Though three years doesn't sound like a really long time, it feels like it is, especially for me. Looking back through the years, it's hard to imagine just how far we've come along, from a little corny site on Expage to our now huge site with over 500 pages (includes the fanlistings). We've had well over 60,000 visitors (includes pre-counter time) all over the globe and are now averaging over 100 visitors per day. I had no idea those three years ago that IH would become as successful as it has, and that it would become a great hub of news, pictures, information, music, entertainment, and more for fellow Idle-fans, and myself. But I cannot soley take credit. IH would be nothing more than a mass of webpages in a corner of this world wide web if not for its visitors. So thank you to those of you who help to keep this place alive, especially to those of you who return here often, and those who contribute to the site. I also extend a warm thanks to those of you who have sites and blogs who have linked to us and have helped to spread the word. All I can say is that hopefully we will remain open and running and the number one Eric Idle site for many, many years to come!
In other news relating to the site, I have noticed that there seem to be more pop-up ads as of late. This is because of my counter and tagboard, both of which are 'freebie' items. I'm going to see what I can do about getting them upgraded to paid status, so hopefully they will pop producing annoying ads. Or, I might have to find another service with either no or little ads. So please bear with the stupid advertisements for now.
On one final note, I have discovered, with a bit of shock, that I only have 100 MB space left on my account. Each page in a gallery is about 2 MBs, so the gallery-making might slow a bit until I can find some more funds to add some extra space. Don't worry, I'm not stopping the Flying Circus galleries or any of the other galleries people are loving- just don't expect them to be produced as fast. I need to conserve what little space I have. This site eats MBs like a hippo.
I have added 2 new Idleized Heaven banners, and 1 new fanart picture.
On the Links page, I have added one new affiliate, and have updated the link to the Michael Palin fanlisting (as they have a new owner now). Two new articles have been put onto the Interviews And Articles page, and the Eric The Narrator from Ella Enchanted has been adopted by Elizabeth.
Four new people have been added as official SPAM Club members. Welcome, Elizabeth, Stine, Emily, and Derek! And, as a hint, I am currently planning out the next SPAM Club project, so stay in-tuned for that to be announced quite soon.
I have added one new Eric as Himself picture. I had planned on having the rest fo the Season 1 Flying Circus episodes up today, but that troublesome thing called life has prevented me from doing so. I might be able to get them up this weekend, but no guarantees. Doing the best I can. Remember, the FC galleries are supposed to be my big 'IH's b-day gift from us to you' shindig, so I'm throwing up about as fast as I can cap and edit!

BREAKING NEWS: CONGRATULATIONS ERIC!!!!! He has won his first Grammy Award for doing the lyrics and co-composing the music for Spamalot! HURRAH!!! *throws confetti* I'm so happy; he deserved it after this being his third nomination for a Grammy award. :)
|
|
I have just added seventeen new Eric As Himself photos, all taken from '04 and '05 and having to do with Spamalot. I have also added Episode 7 to the Monty Python's Flying Circus Gallery with an additional 32 Eric pics for your enjoyment. Hopefully, I'll have eps. 8 and 9 up later on today. Edit: Episode 8 (27 pictures) is now up as well! Edit the sequel: Episode 9 (17 pictures) is also up and running. Mission accomplished!
Added ten new Icons And Avatars. Edit: Added an additional five.
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Samphire! I have also added the twenty-fifth SPAM fact.
|
|
I have re-done the movie clips page a bit and re-named it as Video Clips, as it is now a bit more varied and more organized. I added about thirteen new clips, but had to get rid of a couple because they no longer worked. So enjoy, and check it out! Oh- I did notice that many of the ones I host (www.eric-idle.net) don't automatically open when you click on them, so you probably need to download them to your computer in order to be able to view them.
Added one new SPAM club member. Welcome, Joe!
Added four new Eric As Himself pictures.
|
|
Hurray! The galleries of episodes four, five, and six (an additional 74 pictures in total) have been added to the Flying Circus Gallery! I have also added two new Eric As Himself photos.
Two new SPAM Club members have been added. Welcome, George and Lori!
As obsurd or hilarious as it may sound, Eric is actually considering bringing forth a new Python project called 'Monty Python On Ice'. Though there is nothing certain about this yet, now that Spamalot is successful, Eric has been tossing around new ideas for future endeavors, and this is one that he has mentioned publically. What the show would include would be the classic Python skits live- on ice, as the name suggests. Though we can be pretty sure these skits wouldn't include the Pythons themselves, the idea alone is hysterical. Who knows the possibilities?
Added four new Interviews And Articles, and a new quote to the Eric's Favorites And Facts page.
|
|
I have begun work on a huge endeavor- capping all 45 Flying Circus episodes, and the two German episodes, and the group shots. So far, I've only made the galleries of the first three FC episodes and the group shots gallery, but together they alone total 116 pictures. This is my sort of big 'gift' for Idleized Heaven's upcoming 3rd birthday, as I know many of you have been bugging me for younger Eric pictures. So, keep checking back for more galleries! It will, naturally, take a long time to get all of these up and running, but at least be satisfied in knowing that I'm working on it. Now, go and enjoy!
Though this has been posted before many months ago when it was first announced, I am re-announcing the coming of PBS's (America) new television series, Monty Python's Personal Best, which will premiere on February 22nd. The series will consist of six episodes, one per Python (except for Graham, whose episode will be the living five collaborating for a special episode to honor him and pick his favs. for him), also including some new footage. Each episode was written and produced by the Python that episode represents. Specific airing dates and times will vary depending on where you live. Yet fear not- all episodes are on DVD, such as Eric Idle's Personal Best. His and Palin's were released back in August while the other four will be available as of the 28th of February.
|
|
It has finally been confirmed that Spamalot is indeed going over to London, England, and will be premiering on October 2nd of this year at the Palace Theatre in the West End. Tickets for the shows will begin going on sale February 21st, so be prepared, as they are likely to sell out fast!
In other news, Pythonline is hosting an Ebay action featuring a Spamalot playbill that has been signed by the following people:
~ Eric Idle
~ John Cleese
~ Terry Gilliam
~ Terry Jones
~ Michael Palin
~ Carol Cleveland
~ John Du Prez
~ John Goldstone
~ Hank Azaria
~ David Hyde Pierce
~ Sara Ramirez
~ Christopher Sieber
~ Michael McGrath
And here is the picture of the grand prize:
If you're interested in bidding on this item, the auction can be found here.
But wait, there's more! Twelve items that have been used to put on Spamalot production are also up for auction on Ebay. These include gloves, some shirts, leggings, a hood, and more. All profits are donated to a small community theatre called Risk Theater Initiative. The items on auction can be found here.
Lastly, on February 28th Graham Chapman's Personal Best is being released onto DVD, and contains a sort of 'reunion' of the five living Pythons.
A new gallery has finally been added! Please welcome The Mikado Gallery, featuring 205 pictures of caps from both the production itself, and A Source Of Innocent Merriment: The Making Of The Mikado. Sorry about the delay on the gallery- it took forever, I swear. And tomorrow, I shall begin on yet another gallery!
Added three new SPAM Club members. Welcome, Ben, Sam, and Jessica!
Added two new affiliates.
Updated the Suggestion Box, and added three new articles to the Interviews And Articles page.
|
|
Added 45 new pictures to the Yellowbeard Gallery, all from Group Madness: The Making Of Yellowbeard. Another whole new gallery should be up later today, or tomorrow.
Added one new affiliate who has been linked to on the Links page.
Added ten new 'six degrees of Eric Idle', four new quotes onto the Eric Favorites And Facts page, and two new movie mistakes.
|
|
Updated the Suggestion Box.
The Eric Idle Livejournal community now has a new layout.
Two new files have been added to the Movie Clips page.
The Fairly Incomplete And Rather Badly Illustrated Monty Python Songbook is being released onto a new paperback edition on April 1. This 192 page book contains lyrics and some pictures of some of the most famous of the songs from the Monty Python era. Eric is naturally very prominent, as he did a good majority of the songs with help from John Du Prez and Neil Innes.
As many of you may know, Idleized Heaven's 3rd birthday is coming up next month on the 10th. I'd like to do something special to celebrate, though I'm not sure what. I have a few possible ideas, but I'd like to hear some of your suggestions, too. So if you have an idea of any sort, please post it in this update's comment box! (No, that's not the tagboard- it's right below.)
|
|
Added one new Fanart piece.
I have been working on the Entertainment page a bit, and am happy to say that only three things now remain under construction on the site. I have created a new trivia section that you should check out. It contains three rounds- each round harder than the last- and instantly scores how well you did and places it on a scoreboard, rather than having to send it to me to be reckoned with. I have also gotten rid of the it-wasn't-going-to-happen T-shirts page and instead have replaced it with a page on how to get your very own Eric-Idle.Net email address. I have decided to make those free permanently, so if you're interested, just go to that page and follow the steps. I will hopefully be getting the rest of the Entertainment page up and running sometime in the near future.
PS- Keep your eyes peeled for a new gallery very soon!
PPS- *throws confetti* Our counter has reached 50,000 hits!!! ((Though in reality it's more like 52,000 but hey...))
Added two new members to the SPAM Club. Welcome, Jess and Jennica! But even more exciting news is that the Spam Club has now reached 150 members worldwide. Hurrah! So this definitely means that I'll be planning a new club activity very, very soon. Edit: Added yet another SPAM Club member, Jon - welcome!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Sorry it's a bit late, but I sincerely hope that everyone's new year has started off in a positive, Eric-filled way!
So, to kick-off the new year, I have a few things to announce...
To begin with, I have the results of the DVD Contest for the Eric Idle's Personal Best DVD. I would like to thank all four contestants for entering: Frannie, Mary, Jenny, and Kelly. Each one of them sent me at least one nice item for IH and their efforts are appreciated.
However, there is only one DVD, and I am awarding it to... Mary! Congratulations! Not only did she send me four items (three pieces of fanart and a wallpaper), but each of those four items were of high-quality, and the figurine of Berthold especially appealed to me. So let us all give her a virtual round of applause!
Also, since it is a new year, here is IH's list of resolutions for 2006:
~ Get Up The Rest Of The Galleries ((Which is an enormous task, I assure you!))
~ Finish Updating And Organizing The Entertainment Page And All Of Its Content
~ Redo The Biography Page From Head To Toe
~ Create And Activate A New SPAM Club Project
~ Get Some New Fanfiction Up
I'd also like to take just a moment to thank each and every one of you - the visitors - for making IH as successful as it has become. I could have never done it without the support of my friends and fellow Idle fans, as well as those many of you who are frequent visitors and have even linked to IH on your blogs, journals, etc. It makes everything all worthwhile, so, cheers! Raise a glass and toast yourself, Eric fan!
Added one new SPAM Club member. Welcome, Heather! Also, I added Heather's profile to the Spam Club page.
Added one new Wallpaper, courtesy of Jenny as a contest submission. Added one new Fanart piece as well, a submission, too, from Kelly. Also added seven new icons.
Added the 2005 news to the Erichive, as it is a new year and that means a fresh page for 2006!
Added twelve new pages of song lyrics, all from the hit musical Spamalot! Enjoy. :)
